WatchList Quick Steps

The steps below will allow you to quickly get started using the WatchList. For additional details, please see the topics that follow.

 

1.

Enable WatchList "Preferences"

Modify the WatchList "Preferences|WatchList Rules"

 

 

Enabling the WatchList is necessary so that the Watch list icon is displayed on the ManagePro Ribbon and you can begin to work with the WatchList

Enable Watch list: Click the Program Button|Preferences|General Preferences

On the Display Options Tab, check Enable WatchList

You can increase or decrease the number of days WatchList history is maintained

You can also "uncheck empty categories" which means records that don't meet the criteria set in the rules will not display.

Note:  (this option is a matter of preference but is recommended if you do not want empty categories to be displayed).

 

Clear History enables you to reset

 

 

Once you enable the WatchList  you will see the WatchList Icon to the right end of the ManagePro Ribbon control

2. Modify the WatchList  You can, prior to opening the WatchList modify the default rules and/or add new Rules).

 

Click the ProgramButton|Preferences|WatchList

To keep the default Rules, do nothing.

Or, uncheck the Default Rules you prefer not to display

 

To modify existing rules:

 

Highlight the Rule, for example you would like to include items you create in the New Todo Items under the What's New Category

Click Edit Rule

Check the Include Items I created

Modify the description with "includes items I created",

Check Lock - Locking will lock the description with your modification and will not revert back to the default description

Go back if applicable  to the WatchList Rules Window and modify any of the existing defaults or uncheck the categories you do not want displayed.

 

Display the WatchList by clicking on the WatchList icon on the ManagePro Ribbon Control.

 

Note: if in Preferences you "check don't show empty categories", empty categories such as the ones shown below will not be displayed.

 

The WatchList Start Date filters the list, eg shows all entries that were created on or after the start date and is (not related to record start/due etc)

Note: For customers running both the Smart Client and ManagePro Plus Editions in the same environment, Smart client users will receive WatchList Updates when MP Plus users Synchronized if the Plus user created the record. Otherwise, when records created by Smart client between one another, the WatchList will be updated close to real time. Plus Users need to synchronize in or to receive updates synced by other ManagePro Plus Users.
